Yvette’s Groom Room Terms & Conditions
Your pet is very important to us at Yvette’s Groom Room! We strive to make your pet’s grooming experience as safe and as pleasant as possible.
Requesting an Appointment
When requesting an appointment, please keep in mind that it is a request system. The date and/or time you prefer is not guaranteed. You will be called or emailed to confirm the time and date.
Refusal of Service
Due to our intimate location, limited space, and grooming station size and weight limitations, Yvette’s Groom Room has the right to refuse service to individuals and their pets.
Arrivals
All pets must arrive on leash or in a carrier. Yvette’s Groom Room is not responsible for pets while entering or exiting the pet owner’s vehicle.
Veterinarian Authorization – Medical Emergencies
By booking an appointment with Yvette’s Groom Room, you are giving full authorization to Yvette’s Groom Room to seek medical treatment from the nearest Veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in the care of Yvette’s Groom Room. All veterinary costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet’s owner.
Hidden or Aggravated Medical Problems
Grooming (both during and afterwards) may expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. In the event that veterinary care is required, all medical expenses will be covered by the pet’s owner.
Accidents
Although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, grooming equipment is sharp and it is possible that your pet could incur cuts, nicks, scratches, etc. In the event an accident does occur, the pet owner will be notified. If deemed necessary, and if the pet owner is not reachable, Yvette’s Groom Room will seek veterinary care for your pet.
Vaccinations
All dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations.
Parasites (Fleas, Ticks, and Lice)
Yvette’s Groom Room strives to be a parasite-free salon. If it is discovered that your pet has any parasites, they may be given a parasite bath at the pet owner’s expense. Additionally, the pet owner will be responsible for any associated fees incurred with cleaning and disinfecting.
Dangerous or Aggressive Animals-Refusal of Services
In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Yvette’s Groom Room has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the client may be charged a grooming fee for any services up to that point.
Use of Muzzles
In some cases, a muzzle may be used. We do not muzzle unless your pet gives us a reason to. Other methods are used to calm your pet, muzzling is a last resort. Muzzling does not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. In some cases, muzzling may even calm a stressed pet, allowing the grooming process to continue.
Allergic Reactions
We take great care in selecting the best products for your pet’s skin and coat condition, however, allergic reactions can occur. If your pet has had a reaction to a grooming product in the past, please let us know before your visit. In the event of an allergic reaction, and if deemed necessary, all medical expenses for veterinary care will be at the expense of the pet’s owner.
Interruptions During Grooming Services
For the safety of the pet being groomed, as well as, for the safety of the professional pet groomer, it is asked that you do not interrupt the groomer during grooming. If you arrive to pick up your pet and the grooming process is not finished, please do not interact with your pet or allow them to see you. An excited pet can be dangerous to work on.
Matted Coats
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow and may produce skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.
After mat removal, your pet may experience itchiness, skin redness, bruising, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions or failure of the hair to grow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.
Prevention is the best defense for matted coats. You should schedule regular grooming appointments every 6-8 weeks.
If it is deemed that your pet needs to be shaved to remove severe matting, an extra charge may apply.
